Jono Meldrum – Project Manager

Jono brings a degree of military engineering rigour to this role. He has been responsible for the quality assurance of construction activities in challenging overseas environments where quality control and quality assurance systems had to be designed and implemented from scratch.

With a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil), Jono also has experience in managing concrete construction activities in conditions that would test most. As an Engineering Officer in the NZDF, he managed reconstruction operations in Vanuatu following Tropical Cyclone Pam; infrastructure projects in Kabul, involving international and local contractors; and managed Army Engineer operations in the red zone after the Christchurch Earthquake.

Jono has completed multiple engineer-specific army promotion courses (varying from two months to eight months) and can plan and safely manage high-risk activities. Practical experience in New Zealand and overseas taught Jono the value of planning in detail and executing with flexibility. Jono has strong inter-personal skills and has leveraged this to develop sound relationships with project stakeholders. He is naturally task focused and this is balanced by an empathetic nature. Jono brings a level of relaxed maturity to an organisation and has adapted appropriately to the many and varied environments and teams in which he has been required to perform
